One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

CEMAC and Nigerian ordinary passports: Cameroon visa-free short visit

CEMAC’s current official material says visa-free free movement of its Member-State citizens is effective; this maps the five foreign CEMAC passports. A separate Presidency source directly supports the Cameroon–Nigeria bilateral exemption for a three-month stay. Neither source supports a visa-on-arrival or electronic-visa classification.

    • The CEMAC policy applies only to ordinary nationals of the five foreign Member States; it is not an extension of special, diplomatic or service-passport agreements. Admission, passport, health, security and border controls remain applicable.
    • The Cameroon–Nigeria bilateral source supports a stay or residence of up to three months with visa exemption. It is treated as a short-visitor exemption; its continued operation should be rechecked if the agreement or its implementing practice changes.
    • Do not apply this policy to employment, long-term residence, transit, diplomatic, official, service, refugee or other special-document routes.

Other foreign ordinary passports: Cameroon online advance visa approval

Cameroon’s official Ministry and Prime Minister sources establish a compulsory online visa-file process for users travelling to Cameroon. MINREX says approval produces an online visa-issuance authorisation with a QR code before travel; the physical visa is then affixed at the border or competent mission. This is electronic advance approval, not an airport visa application or an ETA.

    • Apply through the official evisacam.cm portal before travel: create an account, enter the application, upload supporting documents, pay online and await processing by the competent diplomatic mission or consular post.
    • For applicants distant from a competent post, MINREX says the online QR-code visa-issuance authorisation permits travel and the visa is affixed at the entry border post. Applicants near the competent post may instead attend biometric enrolment. In both cases, approval precedes travel; the border step does not make this visa_on_arrival.
    • MINREX indicates normal processing within 72 hours after preregistration and express processing within 24 hours, but issuance is discretionary and individual documentary, health, security and admission requirements remain applicable.
    • The short-stay visa may serve temporary visitors travelling as tourists or businesspersons and cannot exceed six months. Work, study, residence, transit, family, diplomatic, official, service, courtesy, refugee and other special-document cases are separate.
    • The current review found no ordinary-passport nationality-wide arrival-visa cohort. The airport/border affixing mechanism is conditional on an approved online authorisation.
