    DGME expressly permits Guatemalan, Honduran and Nicaraguan citizens to enter on a valid national identity document or passport. This records the ordinary-passport baseline as visa-free.

    • A foreign traveller already in the CA-4 region must hold a passport and remaining regional stay time granted on first entry.

    El Salvador: current named Category A ordinary passports

    The current RREE table and DGME’s linked full country list expressly assign these ordinary passports Category A, meaning visa-exempt.

    • The DGME list uses Category A for visa exemption; country-specific notes in the table are applied where they expressly change El Salvador’s ordinary-passport category.
    • Australian ordinary passports require a tourist card. That entry form/card is not treated as a visa or ETA.
    • The table’s non-El-Salvador CA-4 notes, and rules for diplomatic, official, service, refugee, stateless or special documents, are excluded.

    El Salvador: current named Category B/C ordinary passports

    The current RREE table and DGME’s linked full country list place these ordinary passports in Category B (consular) or Category C (consulted), both of which require advance visa authorization.

    • Category B is consular/sin consulta and Category C is consulted; both are advance-visa categories under RREE’s current definitions.
    • DGME’s online PEI is available to Category B/C applicants, but applicants may also apply at a diplomatic mission; an approved PEI is stamped in the passport at entry. It is therefore not a nationality-wide eVisa classification.
    • The RREE selector can depend on a valid United States, Canadian or Schengen visa and legal residence. Those third-country-document conditions are not nationality-wide classifications.
    • Visa grant, duration, entries, fee, sponsoring evidence, port and admission/security controls remain case- or route-specific; residence, work, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service and special-document cases are excluded.

    Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport: Category A visa exemption

    El Salvador's current Foreign Ministry ordinary-passport table expressly includes Hong Kong among the Special Administrative Regions of the PRC and assigns Category A, exempt from visa.

    • The table distinguishes ordinary from diplomatic, official and service passports; this policy is only for the ordinary Hong Kong SAR passport row.
    • The table separately describes treatment of British passports held by Hong Kong-origin travellers. It does not change this direct Hong Kong SAR ordinary-passport classification.
    • Purpose, CA-4 stay limits, passport validity, carrier, security and final admission conditions remain outside this visa-category classification.

    Macao SAR ordinary passports: El Salvador advance Special Entry Permit

    Macao's current passport authority directly maps the ordinary Macao SAR Passport to El Salvador's online application route. Salvadoran Immigration requires a favourable PEI decision before travel and treats the resulting passport-stamped permit as equivalent to an entry visa, so it remains an advance visa route.

    • Applies to the ordinary Macao SAR Passport short-visitor route expressly mapped by DSI to El Salvador's PEI service.
    • Complete the PEI application and receive a favourable result before travel; the approved product is equivalent to an entry visa and is not a walk-up visa on arrival, ETA or electronically issued visa.
    • DGME stamps the approved Special Entry Permit in the passport on entry through an air, sea, or land border. Purpose, stay, supporting documents, final admission, residence, work, diplomatic, official, service, and special-document routes are outside scope.
