    • The Indian passport must normally be valid for at least six months.
    • A successful registration is valid for six months or until the linked passport expires, whichever is earlier.
    • The signed notification slip must be used with the passport linked to the registration.

Timor-Leste ordinary passports: seven-day Hong Kong visitor waiver

Hong Kong Immigration's current visitor table expressly assigns nationals of other foreign countries to a visa-free visitor stay of up to seven days. Timor-Leste is classified only through that affirmative residual, not through absence from the named rows.

    • The express current residual is limited to a visit not exceeding seven days for the foreign-country passport cohort.
    • The current Immigration Department separately identifies Timor-Leste in a visitor-facilitation country table; that scheme's invitation-only benefits do not define this ordinary-passport baseline.
    • For work, study, establishing or joining a business, residence, or a visitor stay longer than the allowed visa-free period, the current Immigration Department guidance requires the appropriate visa or entry permit before travel.
    • Normal immigration requirements, funds, onward or return travel, passport validity, individual admission and security controls remain separate.

Hong Kong publishes visa-free periods for ordinary visitors

The Immigration Department's August 2026 schedule lists visa-free visitor periods for the named nationalities and travel documents.

    • The permitted visitor period varies by passport and is shown in the official schedule.
    • Normal immigration requirements still apply, and permission to land is not automatic.
    • The Albania and Serbia entries apply to biometric passports; the schedule also contains document-specific exceptions for several nationalities.
    • Visitor status does not permit employment, study, residence, or joining a business.

Hong Kong lists nationalities that require a visit visa

The Immigration Department's August 2026 schedule requires the listed ordinary-passport visitors to obtain a visa or entry permit before travel.

    • Some diplomatic and official passport holders have different exemptions; this policy represents ordinary-passport access.
    • Direct airside transit exceptions vary by nationality and do not establish permission to enter Hong Kong.
    • Applications remain subject to individual assessment and normal immigration requirements.

PRC passport holders require an entry permit for Hong Kong visits

Holders of People's Republic of China passports must obtain an entry permit for social and business visits to Hong Kong.

    • This policy concerns social and business visits made using a People's Republic of China passport.
    • A separate transit concession permits a qualifying stay of up to seven days with confirmed onward travel.
    • Mainland residents commonly use an Exit-entry Permit and appropriate endorsement under separate arrangements.
