Ethiopian ordinary passports: Myanmar pre-authorised tourist visa issued at arrival

Myanmar's current tourism-ministry schedule expressly names Ethiopia in its ordinary-passport Tourist Visa cohort. The current immigration FAQ requires pretravel electronic application and approval but states that the visa is issued and stamped at the Immigration Arrival counter. Under the project issuance-point taxonomy, this is visa_on_arrival rather than evisa.

    • Ordinary Ethiopian passport only; travel documents are not accepted.
    • Tourist purpose, one entry and a 28-day stay from arrival.
    • Apply and pay online before travel; approval-letter validity is 90 days from issue and processing is at least three Myanmar working days.
    • Passport must be valid at least six months; return-ticket and accommodation evidence are required.
    • Present the approval letter at arrival. The MOIP FAQ says the visa is issued and stamped at the Myanmar Immigration Arrival counter.
    • Use only Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw international airports or Kawthaung International Land Border Checkpoint; cruise/seaport uses a separate arranged-VOA route.
    • The FAQ calls the product eVisa and says not to queue at a visa-sticker desk. This wording conflicts with its express frontier issuance statement; status follows the project's issuance-point taxonomy.
