Official evidence timeline

One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

Six ASEAN ordinary passports: airport-only 14-day tourist visa waiver

The official eVisa notice waives a tourist visa for these ordinary passports for 14 days when both entry and departure use the three named international airports.

    • Applies to tourist visits of up to 14 days only, effective under the notice from 1 September 2022.
    • Entry and departure must be through Yangon, Mandalay, or Nay Pyi Taw international airports; the notice does not extend this waiver to land or sea routes.
    • The current MFA bilateral schedule also records ordinary-passport exemptions for these nationalities.
    • It does not establish work, residence, study, transit, crew, diplomatic/official/special-document, restricted-area, security, or individual-admissibility treatment.
    6 passport nationalities covered

Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand

  2. Current official routeVisa-free

Malaysia ordinary passports: 14-day bilateral visa exemption

    Myanmar MFA’s current bilateral-agreement schedule records a 14-day ordinary-passport exemption for Malaysia.

    • Maximum stay is 14 days as recorded in the MFA’s 27 January 2026 ordinary-passport schedule.
    • The bilateral schedule does not supply a route, purpose, work, residence, transit, special-document, restricted-area, security, or individual-admissibility determination.

Vietnam ordinary passports: airport-only 30-day tourist visa waiver

    • Applies to tourist visits of up to 30 days only, effective under the notice from 1 September 2022.
    • Entry and departure must be through Yangon, Mandalay, or Nay Pyi Taw international airports; the notice does not extend this waiver to land or sea routes.
    • The current MFA bilateral schedule also records a 30-day ordinary-passport exemption.

Russia ordinary passports: 30-day bilateral visa exemption

    Myanmar MFA’s current bilateral-agreement schedule records a 30-day ordinary-passport exemption for Russia.

    • Maximum stay is 30 days as recorded in the MFA’s 27 January 2026 ordinary-passport schedule.
    • The bilateral schedule does not supply a route, purpose, work, residence, transit, special-document, restricted-area, security, or individual-admissibility determination.

Singapore ordinary passports: 30-day tourist waiver at international checkpoints

The official eVisa notice waives a tourist visa for Singapore ordinary passports for 30 days at all international checkpoints.

    • Applies to tourist visits of up to 30 days. Unlike the airport-only cohorts, the notice says all international checkpoints.
    • The current MFA bilateral schedule also records a 30-day ordinary-passport exemption.
    • It does not establish work, residence, study, transit, crew, diplomatic/official/special-document, restricted-area, security, or individual-admissibility treatment.

Listed ordinary passports: mandatory preapproved, arrival-issued Tourist visa

Myanmar’s live official Tourist Visa notice lists these ordinary-passport nationalities and territories. Applicants must obtain an online approval letter before travel, but the visa itself is issued and stamped at the Myanmar Immigration Arrival counter; the easier visa-free policies above take precedence.

    • Tourist route only: obtain an approved eVisa Approval Letter before travel. The current FAQ says the visa itself is issued and stamped in the passport at the Myanmar Immigration Arrival counter, so the normalized status is visa_on_arrival.
    • The Terms and Conditions say an eVisa Approval Letter is not a confirmed visa. Print it and present it to the Immigration Officer on arrival; the FAQ says it is not a walk-up Visa on Arrival desk process.
    • Only an ordinary passport is accepted, with at least six months’ validity; a return ticket and booking at registered accommodation are required. Kawthaung land-border applicants may present a trip plan instead of a return ticket.
    • Entry is limited to Yangon, Mandalay, or Nay Pyi Taw international airports and Kawthaung International Land Border Checkpoint. The eVisa cannot be used for sea entry; cruises use a tour-agent pre-arranged visa-on-arrival route.
    • The approval letter is valid for 90 days from issue; the visa permits one tourist entry and up to 28 days after arrival. Processing takes at least three working days.
    • Travel to restricted areas requires separate confirmation. This policy does not establish business, work, residence, study, transit, crew, diplomatic/official/special-document, security, or individual-admissibility rights.

Palestinian ordinary passports: 2026 advance-visa visitor cohort

The State of Palestine's current ordinary-passport schedule labels this exact destination cohort "Visa is required" and separately labels electronic and arrival-issued routes elsewhere in the same schedule. It is normalized as advance visa required.

    • This is the Ministry's ordinary-passport short-visitor baseline. The source separately labels eVisa and visa-on-arrival rows, so a bare "Visa is required" row is not recast as either route.
    • Georgia and Panama have separately stated waivers for holders of specified third-country visas. Those conditional document routes are excluded from this passport-only baseline.
    • Mission availability, passport recognition, individual admission, route, transit, work, residence, diplomatic, official, service and other special-document treatment are outside this policy.

Sammarinese ordinary passports: Myanmar advance visitor visa

San Marino's current Foreign Affairs guidance directs Sammarinese visitors to obtain a Myanmar visa from the Embassy in Rome before travel.

    • The current guidance specifies the Embassy of Myanmar in Rome and a passport valid at least six months from arrival.
    • Work, residence, diplomatic, official and special-document treatment are outside this ordinary short-visitor baseline.

Seychellois passports: named advance visitor-visa cohort

Seychelles' July 2025 passport-holder schedule expressly requires these destinations to issue a visa before entry, rather than treating an online form or airport process as the visitor baseline.

    • Applies to the ordinary Seychellois passport short-visitor baseline in the Ministry's current named list.
    • The schedule's wording requires a visa before entry but does not establish an electronic or border-issued route, so this is normalized only as advance visa required.
    • Mission availability, individual grant, document, route, transit, work, residence, diplomatic, official and special-passport treatment remain outside scope.
