    Vietnam: Resolution 44 twelve-country 45-day waiver

The twelve named nationalities remain visa-exempt for 45 days from entry under Resolution 44. The former 30-day interval after departure was removed; six-month passport validity and legal admission conditions remain.

    • Resolution 44 Article 1 applies to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland regardless of passport type or entry purpose; this record covers ordinary visitor passports.
    • Article 20 of the foreigner-entry law requires at least six months of remaining passport validity for unilateral visa-exemption entry and no Article 21 ground for refusal. These requirements apply to each entry.
    • There is no longer a general requirement to wait at least 30 days after the previous departure before re-entering under the unilateral waiver. Law 51/2019/QH14 replaced Article 20 from 1 July 2020; the Ministry expressly confirms the interval's removal and the 2026 consolidated law retains the amended provision. This does not guarantee admission or authorize an overstay.
    • The ordinary British citizen passport scope does not include British National (Overseas) or other special British documents; the MFA table expressly excludes BNO passports.
    • The resolution's policy window is 15 March 2025 through 14 March 2028. This is distinct from the permitted stay on an entry and from the date of this source review. Work authorization, residence, transit, crew, special-document routes and individual admissibility remain separate.
