EU Member State ordinary passports: short-stay visa waiver
The operative EU–Tuvalu agreement directly waives visas for citizens of the 26 listed EU Member States holding valid ordinary passports for short stays.
- The agreement defines its Member-State scope as EU Member States other than the United Kingdom and Ireland; it directly covers ordinary passports and is not extended here to EFTA, United Kingdom, Irish or other passports.
- The visa waiver is for up to 90 days in any 180-day period and excludes travel for a paid activity.
- The agreement leaves domestic entry and short-stay conditions, individual admissibility decisions and refusal of entry in place. It does not decide residence, employment, study, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, special-document or case-specific treatment.
- A visa waiver does not erase a distinct domestic visitor-permit process; this normalized status only records that the agreement says no visa is required.
