Ordinary passports outside Cape Verde's 2026 pre-arrival list: tourist visa at border
The current Gazette exhaustively identifies the nationalities that must hold an entry visa before arrival. These ordinary passport codes are outside that annex; the immigration authority makes a tourist visa available to a foreigner at an air or maritime frontier.
- Ordinary foreign passport; recreational or visiting short stay, including a cruise; not diplomatic, official, service, residence, transit or work travel.
- The tourist visa is physically granted by the DEF at an air or maritime frontier. The statutory list reserves pre-arrival entry visas to its named nationalities; this policy is not visa-free, an ETA or an electronically issued visa.
- Immigration describes the border grant as discretionary ("pode conceder"). Carry transport allowing entry and exit, sufficient means and a travel document valid beyond the authorized stay; admission remains subject to DEF and border checks.
- Use the visa within 180 days of grant. It permits up to 90 days' stay and may be extended once for up to the same period.
- EASE pre-registration and any Airport Security Tax are separate security/airport formalities, not the visa itself.
