One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

  1. Visa on arrival

    Ordinary passports outside Cape Verde's 2026 pre-arrival list: tourist visa at border

    The current Gazette exhaustively identifies the nationalities that must hold an entry visa before arrival. These ordinary passport codes are outside that annex; the immigration authority makes a tourist visa available to a foreigner at an air or maritime frontier.

    • Ordinary foreign passport; recreational or visiting short stay, including a cruise; not diplomatic, official, service, residence, transit or work travel.
    • The tourist visa is physically granted by the DEF at an air or maritime frontier. The statutory list reserves pre-arrival entry visas to its named nationalities; this policy is not visa-free, an ETA or an electronically issued visa.
    • Immigration describes the border grant as discretionary ("pode conceder"). Carry transport allowing entry and exit, sufficient means and a travel document valid beyond the authorized stay; admission remains subject to DEF and border checks.
    • Use the visa within 180 days of grant. It permits up to 90 days' stay and may be extended once for up to the same period.
    • EASE pre-registration and any Airport Security Tax are separate security/airport formalities, not the visa itself.

    Cabo Verde nationals: outside foreign visitor-entry scope

    The published foreign-citizen visa framework does not establish visitor admission requirements for holders of a Cabo Verde passport.

    • Cabo Verde nationals are exempt from EASE pre-registration; their international-passport holders are also exempt from TSA.
    • A natural-born Cabo Verdean travelling on a foreign passport, and qualifying spouse or descendant, has a distinct evidence-based exemption; this citizenship evidence is not a nationality-wide foreign-passport rule.

    Listed foreign nationalities: visa-free short visits

    Portal Único's current visa-exemption schedule expressly lists these nationalities and their maximum exemption periods. EASE pre-registration and the Airport Security Tax remain separate travel/security formalities, not an ETA or visa decision.

    • The maximum exemption is 30 days for AD, AT, BE, BR, BG, CA, CN, HR, CY, CZ, DK, EE, FI, FR, DE, GR, HK, HU, IS, IE, IT, LV, LI, LT, LU, MT, MC, MA, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SM, SG, SK, SI, ZA, ES, SE, CH, TL, GB, US and VA; 60 days for RU and ST; 90 days for BJ, BF, GM, GH, GN, CI, LR, MO, ML, NE, NG, KR and TG; and 180 days for AO, GW, MZ and UA.
    • Before travel, the schedule directs listed citizens to pre-register through EASE and, where applicable, pay TSA up to five days before arrival. The consular FAQ describes pre-registration as supplying flight, exit and accommodation data for prior security verification; it is not described as an authorization or visa grant, so this policy remains visa_free rather than eta.
    • The consular portal says foreign travellers generally must pre-register and pay TSA, but exempts Cabo Verde nationals/natural-born persons and foreign legal residents from pre-registration. TSA exemptions include children under two, qualifying official missions, forced technical/weather landings and airport transit.
    • The exemption schedule says a stay beyond the stated period requires a visa from the nearest Cabo Verde embassy or consular post. The general visitor framework requires a passport valid at least three months at the time of stay.
    • This ordinary-passport nationality policy does not determine admission for residents, laissez-passer holders, foreign-mission or international-organization staff, refugee travel-document holders, natural-born Cabo Verdeans travelling on another passport, diplomatic/official/courtesy travel, residence, work, crew or transit cases.

    Listed foreign nationalities: advance visa required

    Portal Único's current compulsory-visa schedule says these citizens must obtain a visa at the nearest Cabo Verde embassy or consular post before travelling. The official materials do not establish a nationality-wide visa-on-arrival or eVisa route for this cohort.

    • Obtain the entry visa before travel at the nearest Cabo Verde embassy or consular post, then pre-register on EASE and, where applicable, pay TSA up to five days before arrival.
    • The consular FAQ says visa applications use an internet platform and may exceptionally be made at embassies, consular posts or in Cabo Verde with a surcharge. That generic processing statement does not prove that every listed nationality receives an eVisa, so the classification is not evisa.
    • The consular portal's frontier-visa statement is limited to citizens resident in countries where Cabo Verde has no diplomatic representation; it is not a nationality-wide visa-on-arrival rule for this policy cohort.
    • Tourism visas cover recreation and cruises, are to be used within 60 days of grant, permit 90 days and may be extended up to an equal period. Transit visas are distinct, last four days and may be extended once. Official, diplomatic, courtesy, temporary and residence visas have separate purpose and duration rules.
    • This policy does not override valid-residence, free-movement/agreement, laissez-passer, foreign-mission/organization staff, refugee-travel-document, natural-born Cabo Verdean family, diplomatic/official, transit, work, study or residence exceptions.

    Seychelles' live Foreign Ministry waiver table expressly identifies these destinations as not requiring a visa for Seychellois passport holders and supplies the listed stay limits.

    • The source lists Bangladesh for one to three months; Cambodia for two weeks; North Macedonia for 90 to 180 days; and Cabo Verde for 60 days.
    • It lists Comoros, Sierra Leone, Tunisia and Solomon Islands for one to three months; Côte d'Ivoire and Djibouti for 30 days; and Grenada for 90 days.
    • The table is a live passport-government schedule but has no visible table update date; confirm directly before travel. Work, residence, transit, special passports and final admission remain outside scope.
