How this access rule is documented

  1. Current official routeVisa required

Irish ordinary passports: advance Syrian visitor visa

Ireland's current passport-specific advice establishes that Irish citizens are visa-liable, and Syria's current entry rule requires non-exempt visitors to obtain the visa from a diplomatic mission in advance.

    • Ordinary Irish passport and short visitor travel only; an Irish passport card is not valid for the journey.
    • Obtain the entry visa from a Syrian diplomatic mission before travel; the current Syrian rule separately exempts qualifying transit passengers and crew.
    • Security, dual-national treatment, document validity and final admission remain separate from the normalized issuance route.
