Twelve nationalities: Resolution 44 unilateral visa exemption
The current Resolution 44 policy exempts these nationals from visas for a 45-day stay, regardless of passport type or entry purpose.
- Applies to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, regardless of passport type and entry purpose.
- Requires full compliance with Vietnam’s legal entry conditions. The current MOFA table states unilateral-exemption entrants need a passport valid at least six months and at least 30 days outside Viet Nam since their last departure.
- British National (Overseas) passport holders are expressly excluded by the MOFA table; this ordinary UK-passport policy does not cover BNO or other special British documents.
- Work, residence, overseas-Vietnamese, diplomatic/official, transit, crew, and individual security/admissibility rules remain separate.
