Vietnam: Singapore and nine bilateral ordinary-passport 30-day waivers

Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar and Thailand retain ordinary-passport visa-free visits of up to 30 days. Kazakhstan additionally has a 90-day total in each 180-day period; the individual bilateral conditions still apply.

    • Singapore: ordinary passport valid at least six months, return or onward ticket, sufficient funds for the visit and required onward-entry documents, including a visa where needed. The waiver excludes income-earning work; the destination register dates Vietnam's Singapore waiver to 1 December 2003, not the reverse-direction 10 November date.
    • Singapore temporary travel documents are outside this ordinary-passport waiver and require a visa. A longer stay needs separate authorization; no automatic extension is established by this policy.
    • Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia and Myanmar also require at least six months' passport validity in their ordinary-passport provisions. Indonesia's stated visit is non-extendable; Laos requires an advance visa for an intended stay exceeding 30 days and separately describes extension procedures.
    • Mongolia excludes income-earning activities. Myanmar excludes employment and other commercial activities. Malaysia's listed short-visit purposes include tourism, family visits, official visits, press activities, commercial negotiations, investment, sport, conferences and seminars; this is not a general employment or residence permission.
    • The register dates Cambodia's original ordinary waiver to 5 December 2008 and its 30-day amendment to 1 January 2010; Indonesia to 4 December 2003; Kazakhstan to 25 May 2024; Laos to 1 July 2004; Malaysia to 25 November 2001; Mongolia to 6 March 2024; Myanmar's original waiver to 26 October 2013 and its 30-day amendment to 1 January 2020; Thailand to 9 July 2000. Kyrgyzstan's successor arrangement has no effective date established by the register.
    • These are bilateral ordinary-passport visitor routes. Diplomatic/service passports, official-purpose passports, crew, border documents, residence, employment and the separately scoped unilateral exemptions are not merged into them. A 30-day interval between visits is not imposed by these cited bilateral provisions.
