China and Myanmar ordinary passports: current special social-visit exemptions
Malaysia's current official guidance separately exempts Chinese and Myanmar ordinary passports from the otherwise visa-required/eVisa social-visit framework, subject to their stated nationality-specific periods and conditions.
- Chinese citizens holding an ordinary passport valid for at least six months are exempt for social visits of up to 30 days per entry for tourism, business, or family visit, with no more than 90 days in any 180-day period. The source excludes a Chinese multiple-entry-visa route from that exemption.
- Myanmar ordinary passport holders travelling for a social visit are visa-free for up to 14 days from 1 October 2025 under the current MYVISA FAQ.
- These are ordinary-passport social-visit rules, not a rule for diplomatic, official, public-affairs, residence, work, study, long-term, transit, or special travel-document routes. MDAC remains a separate arrival declaration and admission remains discretionary.
