    New Zealand citizens obtain a Special Category visa on arrival

    New Zealand citizens travelling on a valid New Zealand passport can apply for subclass 444 on entry.

    • The traveller must be a New Zealand citizen using a valid New Zealand passport.
    • The Special Category visa is granted only if its criteria, including relevant character requirements, are met.
    • The rule does not extend to non-New Zealand family members.
