African ordinary passports: Togo visa-free short visit
From 18 May 2026, Togo’s Government exempts nationals of every African State holding a valid national passport. The live official portal confirms this ordinary-passport visitor route for stays up to 30 days.
- Applies only to the named African passport issuers and a valid ordinary national passport, for a stay of up to 30 days.
- The official portal requires completion of the immigration slip no later than 24 hours before arrival. This is an immigration formality, not an ETA or a visa.
- The same live eVisa-information page retains an earlier ECOWAS-centred exemption table and lists some now-exempt African states as visa-subject. The 18 May 2026 Government decision, homepage notice and live ordinary-passport checker control; the legacy table is recorded as a source conflict, not used to narrow the African exemption.
- Border inspection, security, legal controls and individual admissibility remain; residence, work, transit, crew, diplomatic, official/service and special-document rules are outside this policy.
