Federal territories: Bahamian preclearance visitor no-visa route
The federal regulation creates a route-conditioned visitor no-visa exception for Bahamian nationals inspected by a U.S. immigration officer in the Bahamas before or at embarkation.
- A passport is required. Before or at embarkation on a vessel or aircraft, the traveller must satisfy the examining U.S. immigration officer in the Bahamas that they are clearly and beyond doubt otherwise admissible.
- This is not an unqualified waiver: other origins, travel modes, work, residence, transit and final admission remain outside the policy.
