- The signed 30 December 2025 communiqué applies the measure to U.S. nationals with immediate effect; the signed 2 January 2026 communiqué sets out its implementation.
- United States nationals permanently resident in Mali and United States nationals holding a currently valid Malian visa are excepted from the entry suspension.
- The stated exceptions also include certain categories of United States nationals, including athletes, diplomats, and persons whose entry serves the interests of the Republic of Mali.
- Mali states that the measure will be evaluated and that any adjustment will be communicated through the usual channels.
