    Recognized Uruguayan ordinary passports are visa-exempt

    Japan's exemption covers the recognized older Uruguayan passport version but not the newer version omitting place of birth.

    • The newer ordinary passport version omitting place of birth is not recognized for travel to Japan.
    • An older-version passport remains eligible even when issued after 16 April 2025.
    • The normal landing-permission period is 90 days.
