One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

  1. Visa-free

Albania: Saudi and Qatari ordinary passports temporarily visa-free for tourism

MEFA expressly waives visas for Saudi Arabian and Qatari citizens travelling with a passport only for tourism from 15 April through 31 December 2026. This current temporary exemption is narrower than a general nationality baseline.

    • Only tourism and a passport are expressly covered; work, residence, transit, diplomatic, service, special-document and other purposes remain outside this policy.
    • The temporary period must be rechecked after 31 December 2026, together with ordinary passport-validity and final-admission requirements.

  2. Current official routeCitizenship

    Albanian ordinary passport: citizen entry

An Albanian national travelling on an ordinary Albanian passport is classified as citizenship, not as a foreign visitor visa category.

    • This is a citizenship classification only; it does not characterize the rules for foreign passport holders or non-national travel documents.

  3. Current official routeVisa-free

    Albania: named ordinary passports visa-free

MEFA's current interactive country table marks the listed national-passport Type C entries WITHOUT VISA. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are excluded because MEFA states their separate temporary tourism-only waiver.

    • This is the ordinary national-passport short Type C baseline as displayed in MEFA's selector. It does not generalize the selector's diplomatic, service, residence, work, airport-transit or long-stay fields.
    • Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are mapped only to the respective passport entries named by MEFA's table; this does not infer citizenship from a territory code.
    • Passport validity, maximum permitted stay, purpose, funds, health, security and final border-admission requirements remain applicable.

  4. Current official routeeVisa

Albania: named ordinary passports requiring a Type C visa, available as an electronic visa

MEFA's current selector marks this named ordinary-national-passport cohort WITH VISA for Type C and links the official eVisa service. The official service permits selection of an electronic visa and, when approved, generates and emails it before travel; this is an eVisa rather than an ETA, visa on arrival or mere online authorization.

    • The applicant must be outside Albania, use the travel document registered in the application, complete the online process and obtain approval before travel. If approved, the electronic visa is generated and emailed; it must be held at the border crossing point.
    • The official service also offers a stamped-visa option. This policy records the available electronically issued visa as the normalized, easier ordinary-passport route, not an assertion that every applicant must choose it.
    • A used multiple-entry Schengen, EU, US or UK visa/residence permit, UAE ten-year residence permit, Schengen visa-free status and named EU travel documents can create conditional visa-free entry; those document/residence routes do not change this nationality baseline.
    • Visitor Type C is up to 90 days in 180 days. Work, residence, transit, diplomatic/service, special passport, sanctions, passport-validity and discretionary admission rules are outside this baseline; visa approval does not guarantee admission.

  5. Current official routeeVisa

Albania: ordinary passports not named in MEFA's table, electronic-visa baseline

MEFA expressly says foreign citizens from countries not included in its table must have a visa before travel and directs applicants to its official eVisa service. That service offers an electronic visa, generated and sent by email after approval, establishing the residual advance eVisa route without using table omission alone as the rule.

    • This residual follows MEFA's express all-unlisted advance-visa rule and official eVisa route, not an inference from a portal nationality selector or unverified territorial citizenship equivalence.
    • Conditional visa-free treatment based on used third-country visas, residence permits, Schengen status, UAE residence or specified EU travel documents remains separate and is not generalized here.
    • The policy is ordinary passport, short visitor Type C only. Work, residence, airport transit, crew, diplomatic/service/special passports, sanctions, travel-document recognition, passport validity and final admission remain separate conditions.

  6. Current official routeVisa-free

Guyanese ordinary passports: Albania visa-free short visits

Guyana's current Foreign Ministry outgoing schedule expressly states that Guyanese travellers do not require a visa for Albania for stays of up to 90 days.

    • The published exemption is limited to stays not exceeding 90 days; the source does not specify a separate rolling reference period.
    • Admission, passport validity, purpose-of-stay evidence, work, study, residence, transit and other individual requirements remain outside this ordinary short-visitor classification.
