One group agreement or destination policy can support many passport relationships. Dates are recorded only when an official source establishes them.

Rwandan ordinary passports: visa-free under the current bilateral abolition agreement

Botswana's Government states that the Rwanda visa-abolition agreement took immediate effect on 6 May 2026 and that Botswana was implementing it. This current destination-government rule supersedes the older eVisa classification.

    • The source establishes visa abolition for Rwandan citizens; it does not establish work, residence, diplomatic, official, service, special-document, or individual-admissibility treatment.
    • Botswana's current visitor guidance states a maximum stay of 90 days in each calendar year; ordinary passport validity and other border conditions remain applicable.

Named ordinary passports: visa-free short visitors

The official Washington Embassy's full current named visa-free schedule supports this reconcilable ordinary-passport cohort. Passports disputed by the current statutory Tourism Organisation schedule are excluded.

    • The Embassy lists this cohort among countries whose citizens do not require a visa. It does not establish visa-free work, residence, business, transit, diplomatic, official, service, special-document or individual-admissibility treatment.
    • Government guidance requires a passport valid at least six months in the absence of a specific bilateral agreement, caps visitor stays at 90 days in each calendar year, and says extensions are available from Immigration.
    • No general arrival authorization or visa-on-arrival status is inferred. Border officials may apply normal documentary, health, security and admission controls.
    79 passport nationalities covered

Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, Finland, France, The Gambia, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Guyana, Hong Kong (SAR China), Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Namibia, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Samoa, San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, South Sudan, Spain, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, eSwatini, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Named ordinary passports: advance online tourist visa

The official Washington Embassy required-country schedule, supplemented for Marshall Islands by the statutory Tourism Organisation's required list, establishes a visitor visa requirement. The Department of Immigration makes the tourist application available online through the official eVisa portal and at missions; it is normalized as an advance eVisa route.

    • Submit the tourism-visa application before travel through the official eVisa portal, or at an Immigration office, Botswana mission or consulate. The Department says online approval/rejection is accessed in the portal.
    • An online-approved traveller may travel with the approval letter as proof of the visa; Immigration prints the visa at the airport or other port of entry. This post-approval printing is not a nationality-wide visa-on-arrival finding.
    • The Government page says the service takes 7–14 working days. A tourism visa is for recreational travel, with a single entry up to one month or multiple entry up to three months; it does not authorize work, residence, business-only, transit, diplomatic, official, service or special-document treatment.
    • The application requires a passport valid at least six months, photographs, covering letter, flight and accommodation itinerary, trip itinerary and intention to depart; a re-entry permit may be required for the country of residence. Approval and admission remain discretionary.
    • Government visitor information caps visitors at 90 days in each calendar year and permits extensions through Immigration. The cited nationality schedules lack effective dates and include obsolete or inconsistent country labels; the eVisa frontend is dated 2021 and did not yield selector evidence. Reconfirm directly with Immigration before travel or promotion.

Mozambican ordinary passports: current Commonwealth exemption

Botswana's current Government guidance exempts citizens of Commonwealth countries other than seven named exceptions. Mozambique is a current Commonwealth member and is not one of those exceptions.

    • The exemption is derived from Botswana's express current Commonwealth rule, together with official confirmation that Mozambique is a Commonwealth member; the seven named visa-required Commonwealth countries do not include Mozambique.
    • The sources do not establish work, residence, diplomatic, official, service, special-document, or individual-admissibility treatment.
    • Botswana's current visitor guidance states a maximum stay of 90 days in each calendar year; ordinary passport validity and other border conditions remain applicable.

Russian ordinary passports: current visa-free entry under the bilateral agreement

The Russian Foreign Ministry's current consular table states that Russian citizens enter Botswana visa-free for up to 90 days and links the 2019 bilateral agreement on mutual abolition of visa requirements for citizens. Botswana's current Government guidance confirms that nationals covered by a visa-abolition agreement do not require a visa.

    • The Russian Foreign Ministry table states visa-free entry for Russian citizens for up to 90 days. It separately distinguishes the older diplomatic-and-service-passport agreement from the 2019 agreement covering citizens.
    • The sources do not establish work, residence, diplomatic, official, service, special-document, or individual-admissibility treatment.
    • Botswana's current visitor guidance states a maximum stay of 90 days in each calendar year; ordinary passport validity and other border conditions remain applicable.

Czech ordinary passports: Botswana visa-free visits

Czech MFA guidance records Botswana's Foreign Ministry confirmation that ordinary Czech passport holders need no entry visa.

    • The confirmation is limited to a valid ordinary Czech travel passport and entry; it does not establish work, residence, special-passport, carrier or final-admission conditions.
    • The result follows Botswana's direct confirmation to the Czech mission, not inference from the eVisa portal.

Palestinian ordinary passports: 2026 advance-visa visitor cohort

The State of Palestine's current ordinary-passport schedule labels this exact destination cohort "Visa is required" and separately labels electronic and arrival-issued routes elsewhere in the same schedule. It is normalized as advance visa required.

    • This is the Ministry's ordinary-passport short-visitor baseline. The source separately labels eVisa and visa-on-arrival rows, so a bare "Visa is required" row is not recast as either route.
    • Georgia and Panama have separately stated waivers for holders of specified third-country visas. Those conditional document routes are excluded from this passport-only baseline.
    • Mission availability, passport recognition, individual admission, route, transit, work, residence, diplomatic, official, service and other special-document treatment are outside this policy.
