    CPLP, EU, United States and Canada ordinary passports: visa-free entry

    Article 25(1)(e) of the published foreign-citizens regime exempts citizens of current CPLP and EU members, the United States and Canada from a visa. This policy maps only the ordinary-passport component of those citizenship categories.

    • Law No. 5/2015 names the citizenship groups but does not state an ordinary-passport document subtype, a visitor purpose, or a per-nationality stay period. The current Foreign Ministry brief says waivers are generally 15 days and sometimes 30 or 90 days, but supplies no country-to-duration crosswalk; no duration is asserted here.
    • A valid recognized travel document, border examination, financial means, accommodation, return/onward evidence, health requirements, security checks and individual admission remain separate. The law and brief do not establish work, residence, study, business-only, transit, crew, diplomatic, official, service, refugee, emergency, stateless or other special-document treatment.

    The Foreign Ministry's current mobility brief expressly names these additional nationalities within São Tomé and Príncipe's visa-waiver agreements. It is recorded separately because the brief does not publish each underlying agreement or its ordinary-passport detail.

    • The current Foreign Ministry brief calls these visa-waiver agreements and says exemptions are generally 15 days, with 30 or 90 days for some states; it does not provide an agreement-by-agreement duration, passport-type, purpose or effective-date crosswalk.

    The current SMF waiver notice names Switzerland among the nationalities that may enter São Tomé and Príncipe without a visa for up to 15 days.

    • The live SMF notice names Swiss citizens and sets a maximum 15-day stay, a passport valid for at least three months on entry, funds, and return/onward evidence. Law No. 5/2008 supplies the ordinary-passport entry baseline; the notice does not separately describe Swiss special passports.
